As a co-founder and director of Avid.legal, I've built my practice around the parts of law I find most energising - working alongside entrepreneurs, high-growth and technology companies, and venture capital investors to help industry defining businesses grow with clarity and confidence. I particularly enjoy the challenge and creativity that innovative clients bring - and helping them navigate and achieve mission-critical outcomes.

Clients value my practical, straight-talking approach, especially when it comes to capital raisings and M&A transactions, where the right strategy matters as much as the documents.

Having worked with a wide range of startups, high-growth companies, and investors over the years, I've developed a genuine feel for the commercial realities founders face at every stage - from early fundraising to scaling and exit. That breadth of experience means I can offer more than legal advice; I can help think through the bigger picture with the benefit of having seen what works, and what doesn't.

I'm an active contributor to New Zealand's industry-standard equity investment documentation (AANZ templates), and regularly run education sessions for founders and investors on capital strategy, cap table management, and employee share schemes (ESOPs).

Earlier in my career, I spent six years at magic circle firm Clifford Chance, advising on top-tier international M&A transactions and commercial arrangements across Germany and Russia. That experience gave me a genuine appreciation for deal-making across different cultures and markets, and I continue to draw on those international networks to support clients with international ambitions. I'm also a member of the German–New Zealand Chamber of Commerce.
